MATCH PREVIEW

MAIN PREDICTION: DRAW

Maastricht’s season isn’t particular a season of success so far and this continued in the match against Cambuur. The match resulted in a 0-0 draw, but at least it wasn’t another loss for the side who have now won and drawn twice and lost the six other games. This also ended a four game losing streak.

Excelsior meanwhile booked a hard earned victory over bottom ranked Dordrecht and move into fourth. The side fell behind 1-0 in the 27th minute in a very poor first half showing. Rai Vloet scored in the 51st and 71st minute with Stijn Meijer scoring in between in the 54th to make it a comfortable lead though. Dordrecht scored the 3-2 in the 88th minute but this did mean the win to the Rotterdam side.

Excelsior have not particularly played well and are struggling away from home. They’ve lost two from their last three away games and are still looking to find their form. I’m going for a draw here

SECOND PREDICTION: FIRST HALF HAD - DRAW

Maastricht struggle for goals, while Excelsior are spectacular on that level. This should even each other out then. Maastricht have scored just 8 goals in their 10 games so far this season while Excelsior have an average of 2.2 goals scored and 1.9 goals allowed.

Maastricht have not scored a single goal at home in the first half so far, with Excelsior scoring just one goal away from home in the first half. I don’t think there will be goals until the second half if at all.

HEAD TO HEAD:

The last league meeting in September 2013 saw Excelsior book a 1-0 victory.
